Little Tiger provides a total Mandarin immersion program, and thanks to the high-quality, engaging teaching, my daughter has made incredible progress toward becoming bilingual!
She started the program just after turning 3 years old and has attended both the preschool classes and the summer camp for the past two years. While she already understood quite a bit of Mandarin when she joined, she was shy and didn’t speak much. In just the first week, her teacher had her confidently asking simple questions, and by the end of the first month, she was speaking in full sentences!
Now, she’s even starting to read Chinese characters!
Her teacher has such a nurturing and interactive teaching style — it truly mirrors the way native speakers acquire language naturally. Many language programs expose children to the target language by speaking at them, but don’t place enough emphasis on encouraging kids to actually speak it themselves. What I’ve found to be truly different — and far more effective — about Little Tiger is that the teachers prioritize getting children to actively use Mandarin from day one.
This focus on verbal expression has made all the difference. Both of my daughters now have a strong understanding of Mandarin and, more importantly, the confidence to speak it. Little Tiger has been an incredible experience for both of my children — one in the Toddler Program and the other in the three-hour Preschool class.
Not only are they learning Mandarin through play-based activities and a thoughtfully designed curriculum, but they’re also engaging parts of the brain that support early cognitive and language development. The small class sizes make a big difference — each child gets individual attention while still enjoying plenty of social interaction.
I especially appreciate the weekly updates with vocabulary and songs from class, so we can reinforce the learning at home as a family.
